| Résumé: | An annotated check-list of the species of Encyrtidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) of Central America, the West Indies and Bermuda is presented for the first time. 117 genera and 338 identified species are recorded, although the check-list contains also information about species, determined only to the genus level. Information on encyrtids and scientific names are given according to the present state of taxonomic knowledge of this important family of entomophagous insects. This review also contains a host-parasitoid list, and notes on the state of knowledge and zoogeographical distribution of the encyrtid genera of the region, data on introductions of Encyrtidae into Central America, the West Indies and Bermuda, and recommends the introductions of certain species of encyrtids from this region into Mexico. List of reviewed literature contains 265 references. |
