الملخص:The main objective of this article is to show an analysis of the social actors that can play a key role in promoting the Bioeconomy as an alternative for productive diversification and value addition in rural areas. The starting point is the review of the economy-biology binomial, which gave rise to the concept of Bioeconomy, seeking a better understanding of its relevance in the transition towards a sustainable economy. The research method used was non-experimental because it was based on already existing situations surrounding social actors and their organizational powers, from which it was identified which role participants could play in favor of the Bioeconomy. The results of the analysis and evaluation highlight the guidelines for a public policy proposal that recognizes that the bioeconomy gives value to both biological resources and knowledge, research, innovation and management, for the development of products, processes and services under the principle of sustainability, where public universities have a central role in the promotion and execution of said policy.
