It cannot be generalized, or make a social representation, although it is similar all over the world. Results: the qualitative research allows observing the process of the disease: diagnosis, treatment and conclusion of breast cancer. Conclusions: the physical, psychological and spiritual sufferings are similar in different parts of the world, women have the same problems, but psychological treatment that received is different, hence the proposal of brief psychotherapy that is presented. Objetivo: Relatar los procesos por los que atravie-san las pacientes con cáncer de mama utilizando la narración de una mujer que padeció la enfermedad, así como presentar una propuesta de psicoterapia breve para pacientes diagnosticadas en las etapas cero, uno y dos. Método: caso de una paciente que continúa en tratamiento de cáncer de mama. La historia de vida es única e irrepetible, no se puede generalizar, ni hacer una representación social, aun-que es muy similar a otras historias de vida en di-versas partes de mundo. Resultados: por ser una investigación de corte cualitativo, permite observar a detalle el proceso de la enfermedad: diagnóstico, tratamiento y conclusión de cáncer de mama. Con-clusiones: los sufrimientos físicos, psíquicos y espi-rituales que padecen las mujeres por la enfermedad son similares en diversas partes de mundo, no así el tratamiento psicológico que se recibe, de ahí la pro-puesta de psicoterapia breve que se presenta.
