Achoimre: | The purpose of this research is to bring the of Social Representations Theory (SR) as a frame-work to study attitudes, specially of university students towards the learning of a second language (SL) as part of their competences required for students to face global communication and trade. A global world demands to higher education institutions to provide students with competencies, skills, and abilities to face challenges of their lifelong professional development and the need to acquire new competences. This view is shared by governments, universities, faculty and students and implies to optimizeinteraction and feedback among economic sectors, education institutions and society. Therefore SR are important for recognizing student attitudes towards SL, as a componentof this social context to help them to cope with this demand of their academic process. |
