Resumo:If in our times it is no longer possible to speak of a homogenous national identity of Mexican men, especially at the dawn of the 21st century, which has brought with it a series of social changes, resignifying male experiences and practices, how then can we understand What does it mean to be a man today among those Mexicans from different regions and social ascriptions? From different theoretical and methodological perspectives, the authors of Masculinities in contemporary Mexico present reflections and results of research carried out in different areas of Mexico, which give us an overview of what it means to be a man and the changing masculine practices, especially in the areas of sexuality, fatherhood, work and regional culture itself. In particular, the works contained in this book make an important contribution to the studies of men in Mexico from the concept of gender and, simultaneously, contribute in a relevant way to the so-called studies on masculinities carried out in the country and in Latin America since the decade of the eighties.
