The theoretical-conceptual tools around regional development in Mexico have not been very clear. On the contrary, they are outlined as diffuse and confusing, in such a way that the professionals of these areas when facing an analysis of this type, encounter the basic problem of where to start. It is this work that saves this emptiness of concrete information giving a sample of how to make a real analysis through a model developed by the authors where the simplicity and the mechanisms of application and instrumentation are the basic tool for the analysis and diagnosis for the region analyzed, as well as the identification of areas of sustained long-term growth. Finally, the economic policy recommendations that will guide long-term regional growth and development strategies. La presente obra se presenta como pionera en el área económica del crecimiento y desarrollo regional bajo un enfoque aplicado. Las herramientas teórico-conceptuales en torno al desarrollo regional en México no han sido muy claras. Por el contrario, se perfilan como difusas y confusas, de tal suerte que los profesionales de estas áreas al momento de enfrentar un análisis de este tipo, se encuentran con la problemática básica de dónde empezar. Es esta obra la que salva este vacío de información concreta dando una muestra de cómo hacer un análisis real a través de un modelo desarrollado por los autores en donde la simplicidad y los mecanismos de aplicación e instrumentación son la herramienta básica para el análisis y diagnóstico para la región analizada, así como la identificación de las áreas de crecimiento sostenido a largo plazo. Finalmente, las recomendaciones de política económica que encaminarán a las estrategias de crecimiento y desarrollo regional a largo plazo.
