Description
Summary:Interest in the scientific study of insects in Mexico, especially in the northeast, has been expressed by the authors for more than a decade, collecting insects in several states. The idea of ??knowing the names of the arthropods that inhabit the northeast of the country came from the great diversity observed in the diverse ecosystems of the region and that many wasps collected are parasitoids and / or predators of other insects and some other arthropods. How many terrestrial arthropods are there in Tamaulipas and Nuevo León? It is certain that there are several thousand species, judging by the observed, collected and studied in museums in the region, other entities of the Mexican Republic and some museums in Texas, USA that have Mexican material. The authors hope that this book will be the basis for continuing the study of the fauna of Mexico for many years. In addition, they wish to thank the following persons and institutions: The National Council of Science and Technology and the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity, for their support to various research projects that contributed material to the entomological collections of the University Autonomous of Tamaulipas. To the Tamaulipas Council of Science and Technology of the Government of the State of Tamaulipas, for its support for some of the bibliographical consultations carried out in other Universities and for the distribution of this book.
