Description
Résumé:Citizen participation allows the organization of citizens based on a common need and that they come together to facilitate the achievement of their objectives. In Mexico, progress has been made in favoring innovative mechanisms through which citizens can participate. This article presents 3 cases of participation mechanisms established by local governments: The online participatory budget implemented in San Pedro Garza García, in Nuevo León; secondly, the Community Neighborhood Improvement Program (PCMB) of the government of Mexico City and finally, the Open Town Hall held in the Xalapa city hall. It is considered relevant to highlight and disseminate these programs to encourage other cities to replicate them and move towards a consolidated participatory democracy.
