Yhteenveto:ABSTRACT The relationship between people and nature has been present since the origin of life. Within nature, we find animals, who have played different roles within humanity, such as food, clothing, workforce, religion, and a company. At the international level, there are more and more laws that protect them and watch over their dignity. However, in developing countries like Mexico, there is still a significant lack of awareness regarding the dignified treatment of animals. This work shows the progress made in animal rights, particularly in Mexico, and shows what is needed to leave the anthropocentrism of man and what would be the benefits of doing so.
