Résumé:Euthanasia is currently a topic of global concern and academic interest in different areas of human knowledge. From the law, legalized euthanasia grants the power to medical personnel or health services, to directly end the life of people in especially dependent conditions. This article presents the results of a study that aimed to analyze euthanasia and the need for its legal regulation in Mexico. The methodology used was documentary, based on the bibliographic and legislative review, followed by a detailed analysis of the concentrated information. Among the main results, a comparative analysis of euthanasia and the regulatory systems of countries such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, the United States and Mexico is presented. Also, a detailed analysis of the federal regulation of approved advance directives.
