This analysis focuses on the protection of knowledge, considering the patents obtained and accumulated by UNAM academics, expressing the relationship between the diffusion and dissemination of knowledge, before and after patenting; in order to identify a pattern that can be recognized through an initial knowledge management model, constituting an initiative for the identification of patterns of knowledge diffusion and protection of knowledge in UNAM academics who have patented. Esta investigación se presenta como una propuesta para profundizar en el estudio de la difusión de los resultados de la investigación y los mecanismos de transferencia de conocimiento alrededor del patentamiento académico realizado por inventores adscritos a la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Este análisis se centra en la protección del conocimiento, considerando las patentes obtenidas y acumuladas por académicos de la UNAM, expresando la relación existente entre la difusión y la diseminación de los conocimientos, antes y posterior al patentamiento; para así lograr identificar un patrón que pueda ser reconocido a través de un modelo inicial de administración del conocimiento, constituyendo una iniciativa para la identificación de patrones de difusión del conocimiento y protección del conocimiento en académicos de la UNAM que han patentado.
