Social diagnosis was performed in order to provide the elements for a decision to allow the selection of a career that involves the least amount of impact to the environment, cultural heritage and the interests of the people living in the area of influence. The L.T. have a length of 13 km with a width of right of way of 18 m, corresponding to a total area of 46.8 hectares. For social diagnosis identified urbanized areas, populated areas, depopulated and social importance from official sources and then made field trips for verification and exact location. The construction of the L.T. Arroyo del Coyote-Country is an important contribution to the electrical system because of the 308.828 inhabitants of the municipality of Nuevo Laredo 73.194 residing in private homes in 2.986 households are still lacking electrical service. The trajectory is selected environmental and socio-economically the most viable because it would only upgrade the existing infrastructure, without impacting new areas. Se pretende instalar una línea de transmisión eléctrica denominada “arroyo del Coyote-Campestre”, en la ciudad de Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. Se realizó un diagnóstico social con el objetivo de proporcionar los elementos de decisión que permitan la selección de una trayectoria que involucre la menor cantidad de afectación al ambiente, al patrimonio cultural y a los intereses de la población que habita en el área de influencia del proyecto. La línea de transmisión tendrá una longitud de 13 km con un ancho de derecho de vía de 18 m, lo que corresponde a una superficie total de 46.8 hectáreas. Para el diagnóstico social se identificaron las áreas urbanizadas, áreas pobladas, despobladas y de importancia social a partir de fuentes oficiales y, posteriormente, se realizaron recorridos de campo para su verificación y ubicación geográfica exacta. La construcción de la línea de transmisión arroyo del Coyote-Campestre representa un importante aporte en el sistema eléctrico, ya que de los 308 828 habitantes del municipio de Nuevo Laredo que residen en 73 194 viviendas particulares, en 2986 viviendas se carece aún del servicio eléctrico. La trayectoria que se seleccionó es ambiental y socioeconómicamente la más viable, debido a que solo se tendría que modernizar la infraestructura actual, sin impactar nuevas áreas.
