This year, this event took place in one of the most important wetland reserves for biodiversity, geographical location and condition, the Doñana nature reserve. Through the interaction of a multidisciplinary team, the major characteristics of two study sites where described, from the point of view of flora and fauna. The application of novel sampling techniques enabled learning and exchange of ideas between researchers and students from different countries. The participation of Mexicans in this event influenced the organizing committee to propose to the Mexican reserves Heaven as a study area for the next biogeography generation. Se describe la experiencia de investigación de los autores al participar en las XVII Jornadas de Campo de Biogeografía de España. En el presente año, este evento se llevó a cabo en una de las reservas de humedales más relevantes por su biodiversidad, situación geográfica y estado de conservación: el espacio natural protegido Doñana. A través de la interacción de un equipo multidisciplinario, se describieron las características más importantes de dos sitios de estudio, desde el punto de vista de la flora y la fauna silvestres. La aplicación de técnicas de muestreo novedosas permitió el aprendizaje y el intercambio de ideas entre investigadores y estudiantes de distintos países. La participación de especialistas mexicanos en este evento influyó para que el comité organizador propusiera a la reserva mexicana El Cielo, localizada en el municipio de Gómez Farías, en Tamaulipas, México, como área de estudio de las próximas jornadas de biogeografía.
