Description
Summary:Altough there exists a questionnaire of sexual fantasies composed of 18 contents and 10 situations with content validity and specificity for psychology students, its psychometric properties are unknown. The objective of this research was to determine its internal consistency, factor structure and factor invariance across sex. A non-proportional quota sampling strategy was used to collect a sample of 400 psychology students at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Monterrey campus, in Mexico. The items of contents had a good internal consistency, and its two-factor model showed a good fit in the total sample, but poor sex-invariance properties. The first factor was on heterosexual fantasies, and the second one on homosexual fantasies and passivity. The model was one-dimensional in women. The items of situations had excellent internal consistency, and its one-factor model showed a good fit and acceptable sex-invariance properties. It is concluded that the questionnaire has internal consistency and construct validity, but the 2-factor model of contents is non-invariant across sex.Archive XML (SciELO)
