This research analyzes the work context of faith-based universities, if the fellow believer of the dominant faith provi­des preferences for professional development or otherwise, if it discriminates and is limited to a minority of religious believers to have presence in the same institution. The study was made in the cities of Aguascalientes, México City and Puebla, performing eight in depth interviews. The resulting categories help to have an insight on paradoxes through the existing organizational culture and policies regarding discrimination and preferential treatment, the importance of diversity and identity in the workplace, inclusion and ex­clusion, and the presence of strategies proselytizing. Este trabajo de investigación analiza, dentro del entorno laboral de universidades de inspiración religiosa, si el ser co­rreligionario en la fe dominante ofrece preferencias de desarrollo profesional o, en caso contrario, si se discrimina y se limita a los creyentes de alguna minoría religiosa que tenga presencia en la misma institución. El estudio se delimitó a las ciudades de Aguascalientes, Distrito Federal y Puebla, realizándose ocho entrevistas a profundidad. Las categorías resultantes llevan a reflexionar sobre paradojas existentes a través de la cultura organizacional y las políticas respecto a la discriminación y tratos preferenciales, la importancia de la diversidad e identidad en el lugar de trabajo, la inclusión y exclusión, así como la presencia de estrategias proselitistas.
