It defines the procedure, the objective, the results achieved, the limitations and the therapeutic model used now a days, and which has better adapted to the necessities of the college University. In this procedure we highlight the importance that the Institution assumes collaborating actively in the integral formation of the university students, offering them; Advice, Orientation and Help to resolve emotional problems that affect their well-being and/or academic performance. It is encouraged that the students discover their own strengths from the optimal development of their potential thus achieving their own well being. Finally it suggests further improvements of the Service. El presente artículo trata acerca del Servicio de Asesoría Psicológica, en la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, Campus Tampico, en la Unidad Académica de Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales. En él se definen el Procedimiento, el objetivo, los resultados alcanzados, las limitaciones y el modelo terapéutico utilizado en la actualidad que más se ha adaptado a las necesidades de la comunidad universitaria.En este Procedimiento se destaca la importancia que la Institución asume de coadyuvar en la formación integral de los alumnos universitarios, ofreciéndoles; Asesoría, Orientación y ayuda para resolver la problemática emocional que está afectando su bienestar y/o rendimiento académico. Se promueve que el joven descubra sus fortalezas para el óptimo desarrollo de sus potencialidades, logrando así su bienestar. Finalmente se sugieren propuestas de mejoras del Servicio.
