Summary:The present article is about the Psychological Counseling Service, in the University of Tamaulipas, Tampico Campus, in the Legal and Social Sciences Academic Unit. It defines the procedure, the objective, the results achieved, the limitations and the therapeutic model used now a days, and which has better adapted to the necessities of the college University. In this procedure we highlight the importance that the Institution assumes collaborating actively in the integral formation of the university students, offering them; Advice, Orientation and Help to resolve emotional problems that affect their well-being and/or academic performance. It is encouraged that the students discover their own strengths from the optimal development of their potential thus achieving their own well being. Finally it suggests further improvements of the Service.
