Descripción
Summary:This paper describes the participatory action research (PAR) process in the community of Cuilápam de Guerrero, Oaxaca, in the context of confinement caused by the covid-19 pandemic (2021). This situation motivated interest in agricultural and backyard activity in some inhabitants. This research aimed to generate agri-food alternatives through agroecological family gardens to reduce the food insecurity of families of small subsistence agricultural producers. A solidarity group of 10 participants of 7 Family Production Units (FPU) interested in the agroecological transition to produce healthier and healthier food, was integrated. Following the IAP methodology, training needs were identified, and workshops with an agroecological approach were scheduled. Through this process, the participants obtained new knowledge for agricultural practice, exchanged knowledge and established values within the working group, such as solidarity, mutual aid, cooperation, reciprocity, and environmental commitment.
