The hypothesis that says that if most of the Agave kind plants are pollinated by quiropteros, then the Agave gentryi will present more production of nectar and the sugar concentration during the night, also the receptivity of the night belief. Various parameters were set for the floral biology like the antithesis of the nectar production in milligrams and the sugar concentration in Brix degrees and floral visitors. The results proved that the nectar production (1.82 milligrams per flower) and the sugar concentration (11.52 Brix degrees) increases during the night. El estudio se enfocó en Agave gentryi (maguey verde), especie con síndrome de polinización quiropterófilo. El objetivo fue: caracterizar la biología floral de esta especie en la localidad La Marcela, Miquihuana, Tamaulipas. Se puso a prueba la hipótesis de que, si la mayoría de las especies del subgénero Agave son polinizadas por quirópteros, entonces Agave gentryi, presentará una mayor producción de néctar y concentración de azúcares por la noche y receptividad del estigma nocturno. Se determinaron parámetros de la biología floral como: tiempo de antesis, producción de néctar (mililitros [ml]), concentración de azúcares (°Brix) y visitantes florales. Los resultados demostraron que la producción de néctar (1.82 ml por flor) y concentración de azúcares (11.52 ºBrix) es mayor por la noche, así como la receptividad del estigma.
