This study seeks quantitative evidence that the implementation of the financial discipline law in Mexico has had an impact on a lower growth of the public debt of the federal entities of Mexico. Using the Wilcoxon test, significant evidence was found that the growth of the public debt of the federal entities decreased after the implementation of the financial discipline law. La deuda pública de las entidades federativas de México creció de 2005 a 2015 en 264%, este crecimiento significativo de la deuda llevó a la reforma de 2016, donde se crea la Ley de disciplina financiera de las entidades federativas y los municipios, con la finalidad de controlar el crecimiento excesivo de la deuda pública de las entidades federativas. El presente estudio busca evidencia cuantitativa de que la implementación de la Ley de Disciplina Financiera en México ha repercutido en un menor crecimiento de la deuda pública de las entidades federativas de México. Utilizando la prueba de Wilcoxon se encontró evidencia significativa de que el crecimiento de la deuda pública de las entidades federativas disminuyó después de la implementación de la Ley de disciplina financiera.
