Samenvatting:Special Employment Centres are an opportunity for integration into the labour market of people with disabilities in different sectors of activity. There are few studies in Spain that disaggregate these companies by sector. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to study the economic sustainability of 662 special employment centres for the period 2014-2020, grouped by activity sectors based on economic and financial profitability, as well as to analyse the response of CEEs to the Covid-19 crisis. An exploratory study is carried out using a quantitative methodology. In view of the results, we find that these companies predominate mainly in Andalusia, Madrid, Castile and Leon and Catalonia. Furthermore, we see that they prevail in the service sector, are predominantly limited companies, are economically sustainable and have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis, although not all sectors in the same way.
