A descriptive analysis was carried out on a sample of 50 teachers belonging to the Economic-Administrative area, through the application of a survey to determine their leadership style (transactional, transformational or laissez faire). The data collected was managed through the Microsoft Excel software, which allowed obtaining cross-information on the results obtained. The final analysis of this information allowed to identify that the predominant type of leadership in the university teachers surveyed is transformational, among other relevant conclusions. La presente investigación muestra las conclusiones de un estudio cuya finalidad fue identificar el tipo de liderazgo en docentes laborantes en dos Instituciones de Educación Superior en Puebla, una pública y una privada. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo sobre una muestra de 50 docentes pertenecientes al área Económico-Administrativa, por medio de la aplicación de una encuesta para determinar su estilo de liderazgo (transaccional, transformacional o dejar hacer). Los datos recabados fueron manejados a través del software Microsoft Excel, lo cual permitió obtener información cruzada sobre los resultados obtenidos. El análisis final de dicha información permitió identificar que el tipo de liderazgo predominante en los docentes universitarios encuestados es el transformacional, entre otras conclusiones relevantes.
