Summary:The objective of the research was to describe the work expectations of Generation Z through the opinions of 492 participants who are currently pursuing their professional studies. The survey technique supported by digital media was used. A descriptive study was developed considering expectations about intrinsic, social, extrinsic rewards, job prestige, flexible employment and work-life balance. The results suggested the exclusion of expectations about flexible employment. Differences were found by sex in expectations about extrinsic rewards, and by area of knowledge in expectations about intrinsic rewards. The attributes that Generation Z values most in a boss are having good values and good communication; and the qualities that stand out as important to be a good professional are behaving ethically, ability to learn and ability to relate.
