Desde agosto de 2008 hasta el año en curso se está realizando la evaluación del efecto de la aplicación de algaenzimas en la tasa de asimilación de bióxido de carbono y la transpiración de la caña de azúcar, con la utilización de instrumental científico micrometeorológico con tecnología de vanguardia. Este tipo de estudio es el primero que se ejecuta a nivel nacional, el cual se está llevando a cabo en un rancho localizado en el tramo carretero Y griega de Xicoténcatl-Ingenio “Aarón Sáenz Garza”, en el municipio de Xicoténcatl, Tamaulipas.
