Sumario:The STEAM methodology considers that true educational innovation can only occur through its integration into the curriculum. This methodology integrates five disciplines (science (S), technology (T), engineering (E), art (A), and mathematics (M)) and seven skills (autonomy and entrepreneurship, collaboration and communication, knowledge and use of technology, creativity and innovation, product design and manufacturing, critical thinking, and problem-solving). The objective of this research was to analyze the disciplines and skills of the STEAM methodology applied in the curriculum design (type of subject training and graduate attributes) of the mechatronics engineering program at UTM: education for sustainable development, to identify their relationship and understand the importance of their implementation in the teaching-learning process. The research design integrated a non-interactive qualitative approach with a descriptive scope, through a documentary review of the study program of the mechatronics engineering program at UTM issued by the General Direction of Technological and Polytechnics Universities of Mexico. Data analysis was conducted using data analytics techniques. The results showed that the STEAM methodology is applied in the curriculum design of mechatronics engineering concerning subject training and graduate attributes, thus contributing to education for sustainable development.
