Nevertheless one of the most important elements to teachers and principal’s work is the role that the process of planning plays, to get the concept, tipology and what to do in educational context will improve the changing process that are required in schools. It is everyone´s responsibility to participate and join teachers to choose and plan the actions that will improve in the short and long term, but is the educational leadership who will guide and stablish the organization of the institutional strategic plan based in the priorities and needs of its context. Actualmente la educación básica enfrenta diferentes retos para mejorar la calidad, desde focalizar la atención en sus procesos de gestión escolar, hasta el papel de los docentes dentro del aula. Sin embargo, uno de los elementos fundamentales para el trabajo docente y directivos es el papel que juega la planeación; entender su concepto, tipología y quehacer en el contexto educativo favorecerá los procesos de cambio que tanto se requieren dentro de las escuelas. La responsabilidad es de todos los que participan en el colectivo docente para definir y plantear las acciones de mejora a corto y largo plazo, pero es el liderazgo educativo quien orientará y establecerá la organización del plan estratégico institucional con base en las prioridades y necesidades de su entorno educativo.
