Description
Summary:Academic Procrastination is a variable that affects the effectiveness of the educational system by influencing the retention and regular stay of the student in educational institutions; likewise, it affects the academic performance and psychological well-being of the student. The objective of this research was to establish the evidences of validity and reliability that support the use of the Scale of Academic Procrastination in a Mexican student population. To achieve this goal, this scale was applied to a sample of 361 high school students from a Technological and Industrial Baccalaureate Center and Services of the city of Durango, in Durango, Mexico. From the results obtained in the Exploratory Factor Analysis and the Confirmatory Factor Analysis, two items of the scale were eliminated and the resulting version showed better fit than the 12-item version; In both factor analyzes, the bifactorial structure of the scale was confirmed and an acceptable level of reliability was obtained.
