The use of ICT as a support to enhance academic pursuits in higher education students is one of the actions that have contributed to the reduction of failure and dropout rates in universities. From this approach, the aim of this study is to strengthen the remedial academic advising, through the use of video tutorials, especially in those disciplines where there is a high rate of school failure. Este trabajo analiza la pertinencia del desarrollo e implementación de un modelo de asesoría académica a través de la utilización de video-tutoriales con estudiantes de la Facultad de Comercio y Administración Victoria de la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas. El uso de las TIC como apoyo al fortalecimiento académico en los estudiantes de educación superior es una de las acciones que han contribuido en la reducción de los índices de reprobación y deserción en las universidades. A partir de este planteamiento se pretende fortalecer la asesoría académica remedial en esta dependencia de educación superior en las disciplinas que muestran un alto índice de reprobación a través del uso de video-tutoriales.
