Consequently, it is important to carry out a critical hermeneutical review of the official interpretation given to socio-emotional education from two spheres: the curricular and pedagogical intervention; to indicate if the proposal offered by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) is relevant or by the contrary, policy makers should make some adjustments in this regard. The results obtainedfrom the exposed reasoning indicate that it is necessary to adjust the curricular formulation, in relation to the elimination of hetero geneousconceptions in the pedagogical intervention and the inclusion of a gender perspective, as well as the strengthening of the assessment function; so, teachers must be trained in this regard. For this reason, it is concluded that decision makers should promote educational policies that really grant a leading role that socio-emotional education requires within the teaching-learning process. La necesidad de estudiar a distancia a raíz de la contingencia sanitaria provocada por el virus Covid-19 coloca como principal tema de interés,entre las figuras que integran el sistema educativo, al desarrollo de competencias socioemocionales. Por consiguiente, es importante realizaruna revisión hermenéutica crítica a la interpretación oficial que se da a la educación socioemocional desde dos ámbitos: el curricular y la intervención pedagógica; para indicar si la propuesta que ofrece la Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) es pertinente o si, por el contrario, los hacedores de política podrían realizar algunas adecuaciones en este respecto. Los resultados obtenidos a partir del razonamiento expuesto indican que es preciso hacerajustes en la formulación curricular, en relación con la eliminación de concepciones heterogéneas en la intervención pedagógica y la inclusión de una perspectiva de género, así como el fortalecimiento de la función evaluativa; por lo que los docentes deben ser capacitados en este respecto. Por esta razón, se concluye que los tomadores de decisiones deben impulsar políticas educativas que realmente otorguen el rol protagónico que requiere la educación socioemocional dentro del proceso de enseñanzaaprendizaje.
