oai:educiencia_uat:article-1912021-07-13T00:13:50Z Distance Basic Education in the context of the pandemic in Mexico La Educación Básica a distancia en el contexto de la pandemia en México Navarrete Cazales, Zaira Manzanilla Granados, Héctor Manuel Ocaña Pérez, Lorena This article analyses the potentialities and limitations of distance Basic Education implemented by the Federal Government and the Ministry of Public Education to provide continuity in education in the context of the pandemic caused by SARS COV-2. This qualitative research, based on documentation, provides answers to the following questions: since the development of the pandemic and its evolution in Mexico, what measures have been taken to give continuity to Basic Education, what have been the means used to give continuity to Basic Education, what are the advantages and disadvantages offered by Basic Education at a distance to meet the objectives set by the Ministry of Public Education? It was found that the urgency to fill the gap left by schools, through the use of screens, has not taken into account the multiple factors involved in a change from face-to-face to distance education. Mexico has accumulated a series of attempts, in various programmes that sought to integrate technology into education; from 1997 to 2016, six digital education programmes were implemented by the Federal Government, which were unable to fully meet their objectives..
