| Sammanfattning: | Globalization and the development of information technologies have had an impact on various sectors of our society, including education. Changes in the environment require higher education institutions that provide a competitive quality offer and whose graduates have the professional and technological skills to face the challenges and demands of the society. Currently, the use and adoption of information technologies in educational institutions continues to be an important topic of analysis, since, althou-gh it offers tools to support the academic activities of students, its incorporation into the teaching-learning processes faces several challenges. This research examines the importance of the use and adoption of information technologies in higher edu-cation and addresses the study of training needs and required skills, both basic, professional and ethical in this area. The re-search considers the differences by gender in the different types of competencies and training needs. For this research, students from the accounting, administration and computer science courses of a university located in the state of Tamaulipas have been taken as a case study. |
