Hence the need for schools to implement actions aimed at reducing this problem. An intervention proposal is presented to reduce the school dropout rate. The purpose is to contract the negative consequences that produces this type of educational phenomenon. The present work is a qualitative research based on action research. The exploration has two substantial paths; the investigation and the description. The problem of school dropout is not concern of the teacher or the school, but a social commitment that involves all the actors of the pedagogical process and that together involves  the  educational  community.    En México, el abandono escolar es un tema de preocupación a nivel nacional, el estado de Michoacán, ocupa uno de los primeros lugares con esta problemática y no se ve clara la participación de los encargados en proporcionar solución a este problema. De ahí la necesidad que las escuelas lleven a cabo acciones tendientes a la disminución de esta problemática. A continuación se presenta una propuesta de intervención para disminuir el índice de deserción escolar, cuya finalidad es contraer las consecuencias negativas que producen este tipo de fenómenos educativos. El presente trabajo es una investigación de tipo cualitativa a partir de la investigación-acción. La exploración posee dos caminos sustanciales; la investigación y la descripción.
